More Than 1 or 2 Newbies to the Newsletter, Shower Speakers for All, & Turning Trauma into Art

new followers, shower speakers, and the trauma project

Trauma into Art? Sounds heavy but it’s awesome in the most awesome of awesome ways.

Real quick let me tell ya, I’m working on the next book. It is not a continuation of Switchers. Maybe one of these days I’ll do that. But for now I’m working on something that is technically in the same universe, but it’s a whole other story. I’m hoping to have it to my editor–the inimitable T.J. Tranchell, one of the best horror writers out there–by sometime this April. In the meantime, have you read my debut novel, Switchers? It’s time travel story with horror/dystopian/coming-of-age elements. Anywho…

OK, let’s get into it with a good thing, some thoughts, and some really cool stuff going on in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Table of Contents

A Good Thing: Bluetooth Shower Speakers!

I have a bluetooth shower speaker and I love it. I actually picked it up more for my kid who loves singing along to the Five Nights at Freddy’s song. But that’s neither here nor there.

These speakers stick to the wall and play music right in front of your face. I used to always try to set the phone up on the window sill next to the shower. Not the same, and the phone would fall off onto the floor half the time. If you’re like me and you like to jam out in the shower, check it out and thank me later.

Tallon Thoughts: Some cool new people subscribed to the newsletter!

Some of you may have seen something like this recently:

I’ve gone on a push to expand my email list lately. Fortunately, I met a handful of cool people on Twitter/X lately. A few bought my book. Thanks to you all! But everyone has been very cool, book buyers and non-book buyers alike.

So for you new folks, welcome!

What you see here is the usual format. I promote people and things. Sometimes bands, writers, or random products that I enjoy and think other people might like.

Yeah, I get a little somethin-somethin if you click on it, but I’m not gonna just put shit up there just to have something and try to make money off people. And it’s not always a product I put in the “Good Thing” section. Sometimes it’s a band, a comedian, a YouTuber…

And in the section below I usually promote events I have coming up or new episodes of my podcast Creative Ops, a supportive, creative community in a podcast.

At this point, all my regular readers are probably like, “Bro, we know all this. WTF are you doing? Pandering to the new people?”

No.

“Yeah right. Lame!”

OK, fine. I’m done with the introduction. Here. Listen to the podcast. It’s a cool episode.

Follow SCOOB on Instagram and/or Facebook, and look for his art around Grand Rapids in places like Della Soul Record and Last Mile Cafe.

Last thing, here’s some shoutouts from the podcast
