My Day Selling Books Behind a Dispensary…

As the title suggests, I was doing just that this past weekend. The picture of my tent (which I shared with my buddy Los the Artist) is the second-to-last one in the roll below:
I sold a few copies of my book, met a few artists, got to hang out in the toke tent.
How It Went
The event started at 10am, so I got there around 8:45 to set up my tent, then go get Los’s paintings. I have a bigger vehicle, so it was easier for me to grab them.
Except when I do something stupid.
I didn’t check my big tent before I took it. And when you do that, you don’t notice that the canvas isn’t in the pack with the frame.
My wife found it in the basement, I went home and got it, then went to get Los’s paintings.
When I got back to the dispensary it was close to 9:30 and I still had to put up the tent, which I did rushed and stressed out. But it went up easy and Los showed up, then we got everything set up and hit the toke tent.
Almost the minute the event started, we had each made a sale! From there the rushes of people came and went. I hit the toke tent a few times during slowdowns. Met a few artists, potheads, and art lovers. I was also able to save some fair skinned creatives who were at risk of sunburn with a can of 50spf. It was cool.
When the market was finally over, I was getting ready to take my tent down and another person stopped me to buy one more book. It was a good day.
And I didn’t even tell you the best part: there are two more events!
If you’re in Grand Rapids July 9th (or August 20th)…
Come to Pharmhouse Wellness for another Art Market. The address is 831 Wealthy St SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Here’s the info:
Want a copy of Switchers but can’t get to the art market?
You can get a signed and personalized copy from my website, or go straight over to Amazon and get it in a day or two. Unsigned but, hey, it doesn’t have to been signed to be read. Right?

Podcast News
I didn’t put out a podcast this week. I think I’m going to cut back during the summertime. If I happen to put out a new episode 3 weeks in a row, it’ll be a pleasant surprise to all of use.
That said, I definitely will keep going and have a couple very interesting interviews planned and coming up soon. Plan on an episode next Monday and another a week (maybe two) later.
K, that’s all I got for now.
You stay class, San Diego.
