Book Festivals Galore!!!

Up Next for Christopher Tallon

Hey dude!

I’m feeling very grateful to the universe today, man. I’ve been so fortunate lately to be able to sell books at some really cools shows, meet some new readers, make a bit of money, and meet a lot of really cool folks (as most readers seem to be).

So, some of you know I’ve been traveling here and there selling books since Sleepwalker Angel dropped in February. The farthest I’ve traveled this year (so far) was Richmond, Virginia. But that may soon change…

a podcast for creative people, episode 88, hosted by west Michigan novelist Christopher Tallon

You can hear about the Richmond experience—mine and the other writers—on my podcast, if that’s your jam:

But speaking of maaaybe breaking my book show travel record, I have a question for you:

Should I Go to New Orleans?

I’m trying really hard to decide whether or not to go to the GalaxyCon in New Orleans. It’s the first year doing a GalaxyCon there, so I’m not sure what to expect. Could be the best show ever. Or I could lose money, since I have to travel from Michigan, get a place to stay, eat, and all that stuff. Seems like a long way and a lot of planning for a relatively unknown indie author.

But it’s New friggin Orleans…

I’ve never been.

So I’m wrestling with that currently. If you have thoughts, pop over to my Facebook or Instagram and tell me what you think.

Dude

Last night I took part in a scifi/fantasy author panel. It was fantastic. I wish you could’ve been there. (If you were, HEY!) There’s still one more opportunity to pop out and say hi though.

I’ll be at the GR Litfest Book Fair on June 22 at Speciation Cellars. During that time, Silent Book Club will be doing a read-in. It’ll be awesome. Bring a book from home or buy a book there. Sit and have a drink while you read. What could be better to spend a Sunday afternoon, homes?

That’s right, east side—I’m coming over to that side of the state to sell books for once. And I’m truly excited to be a part of this celebration of books and creativity. I was on the organizer’s YouTube channel talking books and writing and whatnot. Here’s that if you’re interested:

Barring unforeseen circumstances, I’m for sure going to these:

If you’re into this kinda stuff, come out and say hi. Just to see all the awesome cosplay alone is worth it.

Any Other Places, CT?

Not currently, but I’m on the lookout. There are a few maybes that I need to iron out, such as the New Orleans GalaxyCon. But also a few more local ones in Michigan. And who knows, maybe a few out of staters outside the GalaxyCon realm.

I promise you this, I’ll let you know.

Stay Connected!

Any news I have will most likely break first on social media, so hit me up on Instagram and Facebook. I post regularly. More so to IG, but everything on IG auto-posts onto FB, too.

And if you really want the smoke, you can sign up for my newsletter which I send via Substack. (I tried a few other platforms, but I wasn’t happy with em.)

Anywho, here’s where you can sign up:

Don’t Be Shy, Now

I’d love to see you on the mailing list, I’d love even more to see you on the socials, and I’d be over the goddamn moon if you engaged with me on one of those platforms. Let a brotha know where the good book shows are! Or just say hi. Maybe ask if you can have a free e-book in exchange for an honest review. I’m feeling weird. I might just say Hells to the Yeah.

Buy My Books!

If you haven’t already, check out my books—please and thanks! I got paperbacks I’ll sign and ship to you, or you can get ebooks. Cheapest price on the internet.

The "Growth" exhibit celebrates nine different artists, who over the course of two months, illustrated, painted or sculpted their idea of growth into one collaborative piece. I talked to a few of the artists about how this whole thing worked. Those artists are: John Jurries* Tedd Smith* Corinne Roberts Kat Vanderweele Jenny Hearns* C.R.
