Tallon’s Thoughts: dueling Creative Ops podcasts
There’s another show called The Creative Ops Podcast. It has 14 episodes. I have over 100. He should change the name of his show, right?
Or should I change the name of mine?
I’ve been thinking about changing the name of my show for awhile. I picked the name because it came out of a podcast name generator. Haha. The idea was that because I worked in a special ops compound in Iraq and now I’m a creative dude, mixing the two things together in a name would be kind of cool. Except it doesn’t really have anything to do with the show.
I originally wanted my show to be a creative community for people who wish they had more creative people in their inner circle, either personally or professionally. On that note, I’m considering changing the name to something like Christopher Tallon’s Creative Community (CTCC), or Christopher Tallon Talks to Creatives (CTTC), The Creative People Podcast, or A Podcast for Creative People.
Before I change the name, messing with the heads of people who’ve been listening for years, I want to put it to anyone who might be reading this.

If you’re like, “Why does he have to have his name on in the title?” it’s because I’m also out here for the sake of promoting my creative career, so having a little name recognition in the title helps (so they say) with that. It’s not an ego trip. Honestly, I don’t really care to have my name in the title. What do you think?
A Good Thing: I was a podcast guest (TRBM)
Just today the pod TRBM dropped an episode with me as the guest. If you didn’t already know, Jody J. Sperling is a friend of mine. He asked me to make some music for his podcast, so when you hear the intro and the ads, the music was all me, baby! Listen at the very least to the intro. It’s one of my favorite songs that I made and I think it fits his Mr. Sperling’s style perfectly.
TRBM stands for The Reluctant Book Marketer, but besides talking about book marketing we talked about getting sick, drugs, creativity, food, and a bunch of other stuff. I encourage you to listen if you’re into marketing, if you write and sell books, or if you just like entertaining conversations.

Latest Podcast: LeBron’s personal portrait artist, Tyler Way
This episode is a lot of fun. Tyler has amazing stories. Some of his methods are a little different, but hey–they worked.

I know I said it already, but this truly was a fantastic episode. Tyler is a great dude (follow him on Instagram!) and has some great stories and insights for creatives of all types. The big takeaway for me was this: Don’t wait for an opportunity; make it yourself!
Thanks for stopping by, helping me with the potential name change, listening to the episodes, and all that stuff. It means a lot. You rock.
If you haven’t read my book already, take a peek at it in my store. The ebook is 25% cheaper there than anywhere else on planet earth. So there.
