Issue #1 of My “New” Blog/Newsletter

Hey everyone!
By “new” I mean it’ll be the first post using this format:
And I’ll try to settle on a specific day of the week and hit it with some consistency.
Before I get started, check out this neat little disclaimer:
***Just a heads up: the links you click are my Amazon Associate links. Don’t worry, my buddy Mr. Marsella is cool with it.***
A Good Thing
Really digging the band LA LOM, which I found out stand for Los Angeles League of Musicians. The music makes for great background or foreground music while you’re chillin at home. Check it out and tell me it doesn’t hit.

Featured Author: Joshua Marsella
I read Joshua Marsella’s book Scratches before he was on my podcast for the first time:

Creative Ops | Ep.38 | Joshua Marsella – Author of ”Scratches” and ”Severed” – Creative Ops
I gotta say, I was hooked. And, because it’s a shorter book, I finished it disappointingly fast. Luckily, there was another book. Also a collection of short stories, a collaboration with a children’s series of spooky stories, and a bunch of stories in anthologies, to be specific. If you like horror, you won’t be able to get enough of this guy. Great characters and haunting storylines. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to. Readers. Who. LIKE. Horror.
Gotta say that. Cuz, ya know…it’s scary stuff we’re dealing with, folks.
Scratches by Joshua Marsella
A mother and son with a strained relationship inherit a house following the sudden death of a family member with a violent past. When the son moves his bedroom into the basement he starts to experience unexplainable and terrifying phenomena. After he uncovers a dark secret concealed within the house, they quickly learn that some truths are better left a mystery. Can they overcome their differences in order to survive or will the darkness overcome them both?
“Horrors abound in this unnerving and challenging debut novella by Joshua Marsella. Scratches shines a light on what makes monsters of men and women, deftly revealing that the robbing of innocences has life changing and life destroying consequences.”
– Ross Jeffery (Bram Stoker Nominated Author)
Severed by Joshua Marsella
In this prequel to SCRATCHES, the members of third squad are sent on a recon mission to Northern Vietnam in 1967. Their squad leader, Sgt. George Hanscott, has to make the difficult decision to disobey his unit’s direct orders putting his squad’s lives at risk, or help a local fishing village end the terror that’s been plaguing them for over a century. Will his decision backfire or will his squad of US Marines be able to vanquish an evil entity they don’t understand?
A Random Thought…
Don’t fight to have books banned. You can discuss a by-request-only section behind the librarian’s counter that requires parent approval. But banning books is a little too 1940s Germany for my taste. They burned books in the street. We quietly have them removed from circulation. One is just the passive aggressive version of the other. In my opinion.

Personal Updates
If you didn’t already here it on the most recent podcast episode…

Goodbye, folks! (For now…) – Creative Ops
…I’m stopping the podcast temporarily to focus on writing the new book, recording an audiobook for the old book, and learning more about ads and marketing. And doing family stuff here and there. Ha!
Upcoming Events
No events. I’ve been at a bunch of them this summer. I have a small stockpile of books left if anyone wants an autographed copy.
Otherwise, please go to Amazon, ESPECIALLY if you read on Kindle. Switchers is on Kindle Unlimited (which is kind of like a streaming service that does books instead of movies).
Seriously. Check the book out. There’s a preview section and everything.
That’s about all I’ve got.
Thank you for stopping by and making it this far!
Huge thanks to anyone who took the time to look at Joshua Marsella’s books. An even huger thanks to anyone who supports indie authors.
You rock!
