My First Public Appearance Since I Won ArtPrize!

Okay, so I didn’t win ArtPrize outright. We won the #1 Jury Prize. I was a (incredibly) small part of the Trauma Project. It’s an immersive art and music experience. I’ll tell you about that, my next event, and how to get my new book!

I Won ArtPrize

I didn’t do it alone. It wasn’t even my idea. It was Scoob’s. Listen to hear more about it:

Ep.73 | SCOOB – The Trauma Project (Art, Music, Immersion) A Podcast for Creative People

I might’ve actually been the last person recruited to make it all come together.

My friend Mike Logan is a comedian and entertainer. He was asked to bring some levity to the Trauma Project. The Trauma Project focuses on trauma. Mike had an idea. He asked me to record him. He wanted me to mix the tracks because of my mad friggin skills, dude. Here’s what we made.

Realblackandall is a fictitious treatment to cure depression and anxiety:

My New Book Is Done(ish):

I’m just doing a final polish on my new book, Sleepwalker Angel, before I hand it off to my editor. It’s been a weird journey on this book. A lot of things changed in my life from when I started to now. Good things. Like winning ArtPrize! But all the things I had going on slowed me down writing-wise. And I was already pretty damn slow to begin with.

But the book is written. I’m making sure the manuscript is as tight as possible. Then I’ll let the real pro, Mr. TJ Tranchell, get his hands on it.

The cover is done, too, in case you didn’t know. Here’s a peek:

Sleepwalker Angel, a novel by Christopher Tallon, author of Switchers

My Next Event & Book Pre-Orders!

I’ll be at an event in Brighton, MI, on October 15. 2 Dandelions Bookshop and Four Circles Brewery are putting it on. It’s a ticketed event and it’s damn near sold out. If you’re in the area, grab tickets for a night of fun with ME! (Amongst other cool things.)

PRE-ORDER THE BOOK

You can pre-order Sleepwalker Angel on my website now. I’ll let you know when it’s available on other retailers platforms.

As always, check out my podcast if you haven’t already. Here’s the last few episodes:

Ep.92 | Cocoon ArtSpace – The Collaborative "Growth" Exhibit A Podcast for Creative People

Cocoon Art Space is a vibrant art gallery and studio located at 327 S. Division Ave in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded by artists (and married couple) Josie Garcia and Tedd Smith, the space serves as a hub for local creativity, offering a rotating selection of exhibitions, handmade goods, and community events. The "Growth" exhibit celebrates nine different artists, who over the course of two months, illustrated, painted or sculpted their idea of growth into one collaborative piece. I talked to a few of the artists about how this whole thing worked. Those artists are: John Jurries* Tedd Smith* Corinne Roberts Kat Vanderweele Jenny Hearns* C.R. Warner* Robyn Smith* Christina Hutton  Lain Leo Bold* indicates the artists who were interviewed on the podcast, and you can click to open the link to their websites/socials in a new window.
