Book Update
A book update for you patient readers out there. My book is almost complete. The cover for it is in the works. And it won’t be long before it’s out in the world.
For a deeper explanation, read on.

What Does “Almost Complete” Mean?
In short, it means we’re looking at an August release. For further explanation, keep reading.
Editing: Phase 1
Well, it’s almost done insofar as I am almost done doing what I do with it before I send it to my editor, accomplished horror writer TJ Tranchell. He writes these books about demon possession in the Mormon Church. Specifically, how they extract the demon in a practice the church calls dispossession.
I have a little while on my deadline before I send it to him. Until that time I have to finish the ending, then edit/rewrite. Essentially that means I’ll go over the story and nitpick, move words around, rewrite certain scenes, cut parts, add parts, and so on.
I’m also waiting to hear back from a few beta readers.
It was a bit of a winding road as to how we met, but I’m glad we did.
When I was looking for an editor for Switchers, I asked Jennifer Soucy if she would do it. After being on my podcast a few times, she read my book and gave me some notes and words of support. However, she wasn’t able to do it; she had her own release coming up, or was editing something for a publisher she worked for at the same time. I can’t remember the specifics any more.
But Jennifer, who has a few horror and fantasy novels I really enjoyed, recommended TJ. So I read one of his books. Then two of his books. Then we talked and quickly came to an agreement for him to edit Switchers. He’s not going to be doing as much editing in the future, but he said he’ll do my next book. Hopefully around the end of the month, beginning of next month.
Thanks, TJ.
Book Cover Update: Phase 1
I’ll be using the same cover artists, Kirk Ross, as last time. We met through podcasting as well. I appreciated Kirk’s artistic style from his animations on his YouTube channel and asked him to take a crack at making my cover. We had an artistic idea-pitch style meeting. He sent me a rough draft a week or so later. I said yes to this, no to that, more of this…
A week or so after that he gave me this:

So, pretty soon I’ll get something back from Kirk, we’ll have another creative discussion, and whittle it down to its final product. Just like last time.
I’m excited to see what Kirk puts together. As everything comes into focus, this is probably the most exciting part, at least for me. The cover is something I don’t have much control over. I give my input, let go, and see what happens.
Fingers crossed…
