Those three things are what my latest guest, Michael Hyacinthe, is self admittedly all about.

A Good Thing: Fun, Creativity, and Innovation
OK, that’s not a thing…it’s three things. Still.
I talked to the dude who started the app that kinda sorta started this show. More on that in the podcast section.
Wimee is a super cool robot that teaches kids the basics in education but also teaches them things like being creative and financial literacy.
If you have kids between 4-8, you might like these Wimee books:
Wimee Learns about Money, Wimee Creates with Vehicles And Colors, and Wimee Creates with Animals And Numbers.

Tallon’s Thoughts: My New Book
I’m working on a new book. It’ll be out this summer. I’m excited and a little nervous. With Switchers no one expected anything from me. Most people had never heard of me. But after 2 years, I’ve got a few people actively waiting for my next one. Just that little bit of attention and expectation make me a little anxious. The good news is that the book is getting good notes from early readers.
The new book is called Sleepwalker Angel, and it’s about a 20-something girl who has supernatural abilities. The story has a rural cult, a shady cult leader, astral projection, grim reapers, and that kinda stuff.
Hopefully it’ll be out by mid-July. I’ll let you know when I start doing preorders. In the meantime, get ready for a cover reveal sometime in the next couple weeks. I’m working with the same guy (Kirk Ross) who made the cover for Switchers.

I’m thinking of doing the new cover in the same style and fonts. Ya know, for clear branding and marketing and whatnot. And I think it looks really cool.
So the new book will have a similarly styled cover but with darker tones and weirder images.
On the Pod
Listen here:
Michael Hyacinthe is an 8 year Navy Veteran who served around the world with the Seabees, the construction arm of the Navy. He left the military to pursue his interests in entrepreneurship. He currently has multiple ventures working in children’s educational programs, a coffee shop, and works with veterans through the Grand Valley State University Veteran Entrepreneurship Lab.
Michael, along with my last guest, Tyler Way, created an initiative that wound up becoming a physical coffee shop of the same name, Has Heart, which connects injured/disabled veterans with artists to create designs that are sold in the shop. (And they serve great coffee. (As well as free and discounted drinks for veterans.))
Wimage, the app Michael created with his team, helps kids become producers, not just consumers, with the help of a character named Wimee, who has a TV show called Wimee’s Words on PBS, as well as a bunch of books. The goal is to make kids more creative and send them into the world with a creative, can-do attitude. How cool is that?
When you’re in Grand Rapids, Michigan, be sure you stop by and check out what Michael’s got going on by visiting The Wimee Store & Studio at 125 Ottawa Ave NW Suite 150 Grand Rapids, MI 49503. It’s open Wednesday–Saturday from 12:00pm– 6:00pm, and on Sunday from 12:00pm–3:00pm. And grab a coffee from Has Heart at 22 Sheldon Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
Thanks for checking in, everyone.
