In the Shadow of the Axe by Nicholas Kaufmann

Awesome read. Under 200 pages. Read it in two sittings. It takes place in 1847 Germany. This is a gothic horror story. Kaufmann puts together a story that is all tension and build up. This ain’t your monsters-grotesquely-disemboweling-people-one-at-a-time kind of horror story. This is a what-the-hell-is-going-on? kind of story. The horror is mostly in what you don’t see, and how the characters (who are fantastic) react. This story will stay with you–in a bad, but good way. Check it out: buy it on Amazon.

You’re welcome in advance!
