I’ve gotten busy lately. Maybe too busy. We’ll see what, if anything, is gonna have to get cut.

I’ve Been Busy As F**k!
I’ve been a bit overwhelmed lately. I finished my second book and it got put out into the world this month. I’ve also been podcasting, networking, going to professional development events, and so on.
On top of that, I’ve recently joined a new podcast, been offered pay to help with another podcast project, got offered a writing job, got into the world of music production/engineering, and guested on some podcasts/youtube channels.
Long story short, it’s getting to be a lot.
Christopher Tallon the Freelancer
The opportunity to write as a paid freelancer has come up. I like the prospect of making money on the side using skills I’ve already acquired through years of study and practice, rather than learning new ones. But if that gets in the way of anything else I do, it’ll be the first thing to go.
All the Stuff Going On…
Christopher Tallon the Barista
I work a couple days a pay period over at Has Heart coffee shop in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It’s a fun job, low stress, cool coworkers, and an awesome mission statement. They pair graphic designers and disabled veterans to tell that vet’s story through art, which they pay the vet for and sell on t-shirts, stickers, cards, and candles. It’s pretty cool.
Christopher Tallon the Audio Engineer
I recorded Mike Logan’s comedy sketches for the ArtPrize winning Trauma Project. I then was asked to record and engineer the Tiny Desk audition for the Trauma Project. Check it out:
Christopher Tallon the Podcaster
You might know I’ve been podcasting since February 2020. This marks the 5 year anniversary for A Podcast for Creative People. I love the podcast as it’s been a great networking tool, I’ve made awesome friends around the country like Mo down in Nawlins, my bestie Mike Logan here in Grand Rapids, and quite a few other folks from coast to coast. And even one in England.
I’ve had some opportunities to monetize this podcast, but I also had an offer to join a different podcast, bringing my skills and style over from mine. I accepted this offer and am now the cohost of Becoming a Household Name.

Christopher Tallon the Author
I also write books. I’ve been on a little “vacation” from writing. Partially to let my brain recharge, but mainly to focus on my family (and friends) after being completely consumed with publishing and promotion the last few weeks leading up to my book launch. But now my brain is getting itchy, which is another way of saying I feel the need to create via writing. Too long of a break is not a good thing and I think I’m officially back on the clock for my third book starting next week.
And again, if anything else on this list gets in the way of writing, I’m not going to do it anymore. Fortunately, the stuff I really enjoy rarely gets in the way of anything else.
Call to Action:
Start by clicking all the links above and checking out what I’m getting into these day. Also, please read my books and review them somewhere like Amazon or Goodreads. I’ll love you forever for it.
Last thing: I was on a podcast recently and it’d be cool if you checked it out. Here’s the first episode of the new podcast I’m doing, as well as the one I recently guested on called Not Great…Grand!
As always I’m super grateful for you guys. Thanks for all the past, present, and future support on my ventures. You’re amazing.
Take care!
